Import any MIDI file of your choosing
Soultheory will analyze and assign:
- Key/scale of the song
- Identify harmony as chord box's
- Identify melody as unique color
- Assign chords each a box:
  - roman numeral
  - unique color for each chord quality (i.e. major, minor etc.)
  - inversion

Choose "Horizontal" or "Vertical" view

2. create songs yourself with theory tools

Set the key/scale of your song using the key dial
Set the time signature and adjust the MIDI grid dynamically to help draw MIDI notes
Insert key changes by adding "key flags" and analyze song from different perspectives

Record chords in yourself and analyze them after
Add chords to the harmony road using buttons 1 to 7 (intended to match the "number system" which makes music theory simple)
Add 'extensions' that are 'diatonic' (musical notes belong to the key) or borrow from other scales by toggling 'available tensions' on to see common adjustments that sound good, and avoid those awful sounding clash notes.

As you add chords and melody to your project, see the flags appear in the function panel which reveal information about what your musical choice mean to music theory, in the form of:
- Key flags
- Function flags
- Theory flags
- Movement braces
- Chord boxes with color based on 'chord quality'
- 'Roman numerals' and 'number system' with reference to the 'Major scale system'.

Preview your song using different soundfont files, or use your own!
Share your project with friends/colleagues
Export the song into MIDI to take over to your DAW

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING LIMITATIONS:
SoulTheory is a standalone application. It is not a VST plugin and it does not accept VST plugins for sound generation. Sounds are generated using your own custom soundfont files. The application analyzes theory based on .mid files (MIDI), it cannot listen to a song (.mp3) and derive the theory.
